Hydrogen (H₂)
Hydrogen is a flammable gas, and continuous H₂ detection belongs to the fixed gas-detection systems used in mining and heavy industry, where a leak has to raise an alarm before it builds up.
What it is
What is hydrogen (H₂) monitoring?
Hydrogen is a flammable gas, and continuous H₂ detection belongs to the fixed gas-detection systems used in mining and heavy industry, where a leak has to raise an alarm before it builds up. In the sensor catalog, hydrogen comes from one instrument, the Trolex Sentro X, which is listed as planned: it is cataloged, but its integration with Environet is not yet connected.
That platform is the Trolex Sentro X (TX6310), a fixed gas-detection controller that takes a single hot-swappable, self-identifying gBloc sensor module. One approved gBloc measures hydrogen to 1000 ppm; others cover CO, H₂S, NH₃, NO, NO₂, O₂, SO₂, CH₄, and CO₂. Each reports its live concentration together with STEL and TWA values.
How it is measured
How Hydrogen (H₂) Is Measured
The gBloc is an intrinsically safe, pre-calibrated sensing module that plugs into the Sentro X controller or a remote sensor and can be swapped with the power applied; it carries its own gas type, range, and serial number, so the controller knows what it is reading. The Sentro X reports over RS485 Modbus RTU, 4–20 mA, and 0.4–2 V outputs.
Until the Sentro X integration is connected, hydrogen has no live source in Environet: no Aethair monitor or Aethair PRO cartridge measures it, and no other cataloged instrument lists it.

A third-party instrument connected to a Thiamis gateway, reporting into the same Environet account.

Questions
Hydrogen (H₂) FAQ
Which instrument in the sensor catalog measures hydrogen?
The Trolex Sentro X (TX6310) fixed gas-detection platform, with its hydrogen gBloc, which measures H₂ to 1000 ppm.
Can I monitor hydrogen live today?
Not yet. The Sentro X is cataloged as planned, and no Aethair monitor, Aethair PRO cartridge, or other cataloged instrument measures hydrogen.
What does the Sentro X report besides the concentration?
STEL and TWA values for the gas, and a %LEL alarm for flammable gases, over RS485 Modbus RTU, 4–20 mA, and 0.4–2 V.
