What is Aethair?
Aethair (formerly Airthinx), based in Philadelphia, builds air quality monitors (Aethair PRO and Aethair IAQ), the Thiamis gateway for the instruments you already own, and Environet, the platform that turns their readings into alerts, reports, and dashboards. 2,000+ organizations in 45+ countries used it in 2025.
What can Aethair measure?
90 parameters across particulate matter, gases and VOCs, meteorology, water quality, fluid level and flow, noise, radiation and light, and agriculture: built into Aethair PRO and Aethair IAQ, on 19 swappable Aethair PRO cartridges, and through the 224 instrument models Thiamis connects. Every parameter has its own page with the limits that apply to it.
Can I use the air quality instruments I already own?
Yes. Thiamis connects 224 models from 35 instrument integrations, including TSI, Thermo Scientific, and Met One, over its RS-232, RS-485, SDI-12, and USB ports, and reports them in Environet alongside Aethair monitors. Connect the instrument to a port and set it as the connected device in Environet; its readings then stream over the gateway's own SIM. Every compatible instrument.
How do alerts and compliance reports work?
You set limits in Environet, from a standard or your own, on a single reading or a time-weighted average (TWA). When a limit is crossed, the right person is alerted by email, SMS, or webhook, from the first minute. Aethair Reports produces audit-ready compliance reports, scheduled or on demand, written to WELL v2, ISO 23875 cabin air, the CMS-2567 healthcare codebook, or your own limits; each names the standard applied, the thresholds used, and the time-stamped readings behind them.
Who owns the data, and how is it protected?
You do. Every reading is time-stamped when taken and encrypted in transit, from the device to Aethair Cloud and from the cloud to whoever reads it. Your data is kept for as long as you need it (at least two years after a project ends), deleted only at your request, and exportable as JSON or CSV through the Environet API at any time. How long does it take to get started?
Minutes. An Aethair monitor starts reporting as soon as it is plugged in, over its own cellular link, with no network to set up, and alerts work from the first minute. An instrument on Thiamis joins once it is connected to a port and set as the connected device in Environet.
How is Aethair bought?
The hardware is a one-time purchase: the monitors and gateway with their sensors, cartridges, and accessories. The platform is an annual subscription on a one- to three-year contract that covers every platform feature. Cellular data and data hosting are included, with no network fee. It starts with a 30-minute call: you tell us about your application, then we demo the solution for it.
What happens when a site loses signal or power?
Nothing is lost: Aethair PRO keeps readings on the device until they are delivered, so an outage delays data but never loses it. It has a built-in battery, takes the optional Solar Panel Bracket for off-grid sites, and runs from −30 °C to 70 °C. Aethair PRO.
Does Aethair work with integrators and OEMs?
Yes. Bring your own instruments onto the platform through Thiamis, integrate the platform into your own device as an OEM, or build your own applications on the Environet API, published as an OpenAPI 3.2 specification. The platform.
