Particulate & Dust Monitors
This integration covers Thermo Scientific particulate monitors, led by the Partisol iSeries reference-method gravimetric samplers: the 2025i sequential sampler (16.67 L/min, 16-filter magazine for about 2 weeks unattended), the single-filter 2000i, and their 2025i-D / 2000i-D dichotomous versions that split fine (PM2.5) and coarse fractions. Particulate mass is weighed off-line in the laboratory. Alongside them are the older real-time DataRAM light-scattering (nephelometric) dust monitors: the Personal DataRAM pDR-1500 and the ADR-1500 area monitor. Both auto-range over 0.001–400 mg/m³, with interchangeable PM1/PM2.5/PM4/PM10 cyclones and RH/pressure compensation.

| US-EPA reference-method sequential gravimetric sampler; a 16-cassette magazine changes filters automatically for ~2 weeks of unattended daily PM2.5/PM10 sampling at the 16.67 L/min reference flow. Particulate mass is determined off-line by weighing the exposed filters. | ||
| Dichotomous version of the 2025i: a virtual impactor splits PM10 into fine (PM2.5) and coarse fractions onto two filters at once, with the same 16-cassette magazine for ~2 weeks of unattended sampling. | ||
| Single-filter reference-method sampler; collects one PM2.5/PM10 sample per run at 16.67 L/min with a manual filter change (no magazine). Shares the iSeries platform, C-Link protocol, and reported telemetry with the 2025i. | ||
| Single-run dichotomous sampler; a virtual impactor collects simultaneous fine (PM2.5) and coarse filters, with a manual filter change between runs. | ||
| Personal DataRAM pDR-1500: active (pumped) portable nephelometer, 0.001–400 mg/m³ auto-ranging, 1–3.5 L/min true volumetric flow with RH and barometric-pressure compensation; interchangeable cyclones (PM10 & PM4 or PM2.5 & PM1) plus an integrated sample filter for post-gravimetric validation. Logs mass, temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure over USB/RS-232 at 19,200 baud. | ||
| ADR-1500 Area Dust Monitor: the pDR-1500 nephelometric engine in a fixed/area enclosure with a temperature/RH sensor and an internal inlet heater that dries the aerosol to remove the positive humidity bias at elevated RH; 0.001–400 mg/m³ auto-ranging, optional GK 2.05 (PM4–PM10) and SCC 1.062 (PM1–PM4) cyclones. Logs mass, temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure over USB/RS-232 at 19,200 baud. |

What the Thermo Scientific Partisol & DataRAM Get From Aethair
Connected through Thiamis, its readings arrive in the same Environet account as Aethair's own monitors.
Live data and alerts
Environet shows the instrument live and alerts the people you choose by email, SMS, and webhook, at the thresholds you set. Noesis sets up a dashboard, a report, or an alert from a plain-text request.
Compliance reports
Aethair Reports produces scheduled or on-demand reports from the instrument's readings, as a PDF or secure link. Templates cover Aethair Blue, WELL v2, cabin air (ISO 23875), and the CMS-2567 healthcare codebook (ASHRAE 170), or you can report against custom limits such as OSHA PELs, NAAQS, EPA guidance, or your own program limits.
Dashboards and the app
Environet dashboards and the Aethair App show the instrument's readings just like any Aethair device. The occupant-facing Aethair Dashboards status display is built around Aethair IAQ and Aethair PRO.

Questions
Thermo Scientific Partisol & DataRAM FAQ
Does the Partisol measure PM2.5 and PM10 in real time?
It measures them, but not in real time. The Partisol is a gravimetric sampler designated as a US EPA reference method for PM2.5 and PM10. It draws ambient air at a controlled flow through a size-selective inlet and collects the particulate on a filter. The mass concentration is determined afterward in the laboratory by weighing the exposed filter and dividing by the sampled volume. Because the result is a lab measurement, the PM2.5/PM10 values are not streamed live. Over the data link the sampler reports only its operating telemetry (ambient temperature, barometric pressure, sample flow and, if fitted, wind).
What is the difference between the 2025i, 2025i-D, 2000i, and 2000i-D?
The 2025i is a sequential sampler: a 16-cassette magazine changes filters automatically for about two weeks of unattended daily sampling. The 2000i takes a single sample per run and needs a manual filter change. The '-D' dichotomous versions add a virtual impactor that splits PM10 into fine (PM2.5) and coarse fractions collected on two filters simultaneously. All four share the iSeries platform, the C-Link protocol, and the same reported telemetry, so the integration reads them identically.
How does the Partisol connect and what does it report each interval?
It speaks the C-Link ASCII protocol over a serial line at 9600 baud, 8-N-1 (the iSeries also offers USB and Ethernet for local download). Each interval the integration polls the sampler for ambient temperature, barometric pressure, sample flow, and wind speed/direction, plus the instrument status and alarm flags. The sample flow is reported three ways: actual (volumetric at ambient conditions), mass, and standard-conditions flow.
Where do the wind speed and direction come from?
Wind is not measured by the sampler itself. Wind speed and direction come from an optional external anemometer and vane wired into the sampler's two 0–5 Vdc analog inputs, so those values appear only when a meteorological sensor is fitted. Ambient temperature and barometric pressure, by contrast, are measured by the instrument's own sensors and are used for volumetric flow control.
What flow rate does it run at?
The US-EPA reference flow for PM2.5 and PM10 sampling is 16.67 L/min, held by the instrument's mass-flow controller; the controllable range is roughly 10–19 L/min for other inlet configurations. Pump vacuum and filter pressure-drop are also monitored internally for flow control and filter-loading diagnostics, but they are instrument-health readings rather than environmental measurements and are not surfaced as parameters.
What is the difference between the pDR-1500 and the ADR-1500?
Both use the same Thermo light-scattering (nephelometric) engine and the same 0.001–400 mg/m³ auto-ranging measurement. The pDR-1500 is an active, pumped personal monitor (1–3.5 L/min) worn on the belt, with an integrated filter for post-gravimetric validation. The ADR-1500 is a fixed area monitor that adds an internal inlet heater to dry the sampled aerosol and remove the positive humidity bias at high RH.
What does the DataRAM measure, and how does it connect?
Real-time particulate mass concentration (0.001–400 mg/m³, auto-ranging) plus air temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure, read over USB/RS-232 at 19,200 baud. Relative humidity and barometric pressure are also used by the instrument itself for volumetric-flow control and humidity-bias correction.
Which particle-size cut-points can it measure?
Size selection is by interchangeable cyclone at the inlet. The pDR-1500 ships with cyclones for PM10 & PM4 or PM2.5 & PM1; the ADR-1500 uses the GK 2.05 cyclone (roughly PM4–PM10) and the SCC 1.062 cyclone (roughly PM1–PM4). Removing the cyclone samples total/inhalable aerosol. The reported quantity is total mass concentration; the fitted cyclone defines the size fraction.
