Particles Plus Particulate & Dust Monitors
Particles Plus 5000-series remote (fixed-install) and 7000-series benchtop instruments are laser airborne particle counters and air-quality monitors. They count 0.3-25 µm particles across six selectable size channels at 0.1 CFM (2.83 LPM) to ISO 21501-4 / JIS B9921, reporting cumulative and differential counts plus an approximate µg/m³ mass concentration. Temperature and relative humidity are optional throughout; the -AQM1 variants add a CO2 sensor and the -AQM2 variants add a photoionization TVOC sensor. Integrated over Modbus RS-485.

On the platform
What Particles Plus Particulate & Dust Monitors Get From Aethair
Connected through Thiamis, its readings arrive in the same Environet account as Aethair's own monitors.
Live data and alerts
Environet shows the instrument live and alerts the people you choose by email, SMS, and webhook, at the thresholds you set. Noesis sets up a dashboard, a report, or an alert from a plain-text request.
Compliance reports
Aethair Reports produces scheduled or on-demand reports from the instrument's readings, as a PDF or secure link. Templates cover Aethair Blue, WELL v2, cabin air (ISO 23875), and the CMS-2567 healthcare codebook (ASHRAE 170), or you can report against custom limits such as OSHA PELs, NAAQS, EPA guidance, or your own program limits.
Dashboards and the app
Environet dashboards and the Aethair App show the instrument's readings just like any Aethair device. The occupant-facing Aethair Dashboards status display is built around Aethair IAQ and Aethair PRO.

Questions
Particles Plus Particulate & Dust Monitors FAQ
What do the AQM1 and AQM2 suffixes mean?
The base model (e.g. 5301 or 7301) is a particle counter with optional temperature and humidity only. -AQM1 adds a CO2 sensor (0-5000 ppm); -AQM2 adds both CO2 and a photoionization (PID) TVOC sensor (5 ppb-50 ppm). All three tiers share the same 0.3-25 µm optical particle counter.
How is the µg/m³ mass concentration produced?
The instrument approximates PM mass concentration in µg/m³ from the optical particle counts using density and refractive-index corrections. It is derived from the same laser counter rather than a separate gravimetric or nephelometric PM sensor, so Aethair records it as the µg/m³ unit of the particle-count parameter instead of a distinct PM2.5/PM10 channel.
What are the six size channels?
The counters are factory-calibrated at 0.3, 0.5, 1.0, 2.5, 5.0, and 10.0 µm (six selectable channels) and size particles up to 25 µm. Both cumulative (at or above a size) and differential (per-bin) counts are reported, in particles, particles/ft³, or particles/m³, to ISO 21501-4 / JIS B9921.
Where does the barometric pressure reading come from?
From the counter's internal pressure sensor, which the instrument uses for volumetric-flow and mass-concentration compensation. The integration reads it over Modbus and reports it in hPa, even though it is not a headline air-quality parameter.
How does the counter connect to the platform, and what model number does it report?
Over Modbus RS-485. The driver reads the instrument's own model and serial number, auto-discovers the configured size channels, then polls real-time counts and the environmental/gas readings each interval. The instrument reports a bare four-digit model number on the bus (e.g. 5301); the -AQM1/-AQM2 tier is a build option, not part of that reported number.
