| Model | Description | Measures & specs |
|---|---|---|
| ATEX/IECEx Group I certified fixed real-time optical dust monitor (light-scattering OPC, 0.35–40 µm, up to 10,000 samples/s) for underground mining and hazardous areas. Reports four user-assignable size fractions (PM A/B/C/D, default PM1, PM2.5, PM4.25, PM10) plus TSP from a single sample, each live and as STEL (default 15-min) and TWA (default 8-h) averages over RS485 Modbus RTU. | ||
| General-industrial variant of the Air XD optical dust monitor, with the same real-time PM1/PM2.5/PM4.25/PM10 + TSP measurement and RS485 Modbus register map as the TX8005, without the Group I hazardous-area certification. | ||
| Wearable/portable real-time respirable dust monitor built on the same light-scattering OPC (0.35–40 µm) as the Air XD. Reports PM1/PM2.5/PM4.25/PM10 plus TSP with on-device STEL/TWA audio-visual alarms. Battery-powered (16+ h) and streams to Trolex BreatheLITE software over USB/Bluetooth rather than the RS485 Modbus bus used by the fixed Air XD/XS. | ||
| Fixed real-time respirable crystalline silica (RCS) monitor using patented Optical Refraction Technology (ORT) with a light-scattering photometer to distinguish silica within complex dust. Reports RCS mass concentration with 15-minute, 1-, 4-, 8-, and 12-hour rolling averages over RS485 Modbus RTU; the real-time reading is indicative for trending and alarms, not a regulatory reference method. |

On the platform
What Trolex Particulate & Dust Monitors Get From Aethair
Connected through Thiamis, its readings arrive in the same Environet account as Aethair's own monitors.
Live data and alerts
Environet shows the instrument live and alerts the people you choose by email, SMS, and webhook, at the thresholds you set. Noesis sets up a dashboard, a report, or an alert from a plain-text request.
Compliance reports
Aethair Reports produces scheduled or on-demand reports from the instrument's readings, as a PDF or secure link. Templates cover Aethair Blue, WELL v2, cabin air (ISO 23875), and the CMS-2567 healthcare codebook (ASHRAE 170), or you can report against custom limits such as OSHA PELs, NAAQS, EPA guidance, or your own program limits.
Dashboards and the app
Environet dashboards and the Aethair App show the instrument's readings just like any Aethair device. The occupant-facing Aethair Dashboards status display is built around Aethair IAQ and Aethair PRO.

Questions
Trolex Particulate & Dust Monitors FAQ
What does the Air XD measure, and what are the PM A/B/C/D readings?
The Air XD (TX8005 Group I mining unit; TX8015 industrial variant) is a light-scattering optical particle counter that sizes particles from 0.35 to 40 µm at up to 10,000 samples per second. Over Modbus it reports five mass fractions: four user-assignable size channels (PM A/B/C/D, default PM1, PM2.5, PM4.25, and PM10) plus Total Suspended Particulates (TSP). Each is available live and as STEL (default 15-minute) and TWA (default 8-hour) rolling averages.
How is the XD ONE different from the Air XD?
The XD ONE (TX8060/TX8061) is the wearable, battery-powered version of the same optical dust sensor, measuring the same PM1/PM2.5/PM4.25/PM10 fractions plus TSP with on-device STEL/TWA alarms. Unlike the fixed Air XD it has no RS485 Modbus interface. It streams to Trolex BreatheLITE software over USB/Bluetooth, so it needs a separate integration path.
How does the Air XS detect crystalline silica in real time?
The Air XS uses patented Optical Refraction Technology (ORT) together with a light-scattering photometer to distinguish respirable crystalline silica within a mixed dust cloud, reporting RCS mass concentration continuously with 15-minute, 1-, 4-, 8-, and 12-hour averages. Trolex states the real-time reading is indicative for trending and alarms and is not a substitute for the gravimetric laboratory reference method used for regulatory compliance.
How does the integration tell the Air XD and Air XS apart?
Both connect over RS485 Modbus RTU and share one Thiamis driver. The driver polls the Modbus ID register, auto-selects the profile (ID 8005 for the Air XD, 8100 for the Air XS), then reads that unit's data registers each interval. The same driver also serves the Trolex Sentro X gas detector when it is present on the bus.
