RAE Gas Detectors
RAE Systems (Honeywell) portable gas detectors. MultiRAE platforms are multi-gas monitors with 1 to 6 sensors, including an optional PID. The miniRAE, ppbRAE, and ultraRAE are handheld PID VOC monitors covering ppm to ppb levels (the ultraRAE adds benzene-specific measurement), and the VRAE is a five-gas monitor.

What RAE Gas Detectors Get From Aethair
Connected through Thiamis, its readings arrive in the same Environet account as Aethair's own monitors.
Live data and alerts
Environet shows the instrument live and alerts the people you choose by email, SMS, and webhook, at the thresholds you set. Noesis sets up a dashboard, a report, or an alert from a plain-text request.
Compliance reports
Aethair Reports produces scheduled or on-demand reports from the instrument's readings, as a PDF or secure link. Templates cover Aethair Blue, WELL v2, cabin air (ISO 23875), and the CMS-2567 healthcare codebook (ASHRAE 170), or you can report against custom limits such as OSHA PELs, NAAQS, EPA guidance, or your own program limits.
Dashboards and the app
Environet dashboards and the Aethair App show the instrument's readings just like any Aethair device. The occupant-facing Aethair Dashboards status display is built around Aethair IAQ and Aethair PRO.

Questions
RAE Gas Detectors FAQ
Which RAE models measure a full gas panel, and which measure only VOCs?
The MultiRAE family (MultiRAE Lite, MultiRAE, MultiRAE Pro) and the legacy VRAE, MultiRAE Plus, and MultiRAE IR are configurable multi-gas instruments, and the integration reads whatever sensors are installed. The miniRAE, ppbRAE, and ultraRAE handhelds are single-detector PID monitors: they report total VOCs only, plus peak, low, STEL, and TWA statistics of that VOC reading.
How does the integration know which gases a MultiRAE is fitted with?
On each poll the driver issues an 'N' command that returns the list of installed sensor names (for example 'SO2 NO2 H2S CO VOC'), then reads their values in that order with the 'R' command. As a result, a MultiRAE or VRAE publishes exactly the sensors physically installed; the panel is not fixed in firmware. The single-detector PID handhelds skip this step and read one VOC value directly.
What does the ultraRAE 3000 measure - benzene or VOCs?
The ultraRAE 3000 is a compound-specific PID: in benzene mode a pre-filter separation tube isolates benzene (about 10 ppb-200 ppm), and it also has a broadband VOC mode to 10,000 ppm. The integration publishes the reading as total VOC.
Why does a VRAE or MultiRAE Plus show a VOC reading even without a PID?
The firmware maps several specialty electrochemical channels (hydrogen cyanide (HCN), phosphine (PH3), and ethylene oxide (EtO)), plus the combustible-by-volume (VOL) channel, onto the total-VOC parameter, because Aethair has no separate parameter for them. So a unit fitted with an HCN or PH3 sensor reports under VOC.
Are the 2000-series handhelds, MultiRAE Plus/IR, and VRAE still sold?
No. The 2000-series PID handhelds (miniRAE 2000, ppbRAE 2000), the previous-generation MultiRAE Plus and MultiRAE IR, and the VRAE five-gas monitor are discontinued; the current 3000-series handhelds are now sold as the '3000+'. They remain in the driver for installed-base support.
